The Billboard Project

We’re using billboards to break through the noise.

Our goal is to reach people in everyday life—driving to work, running errands, passing through town. Billboards cut across political lines and media bubbles. They’re seen by people who may not follow the news, but who feel the strain of rising costs, insecure jobs, and a health care system in disarray.

The billboards we’ve placed are projected to reach between 250,000 and 1.2 million people per month—and their impact doesn’t stop there. These messages are shared and amplified on social media, expanding their reach far beyond the highway.

By calling, writing, and speaking up, we believe Americans can pressure Republican lawmakers to stand up for democracy—and for us all.

Our Billboards

  • Rochester, Minnesota

A billboard in Rochester, Minnesota, near the Mayo Clinic, targets the state's First Congressional District, represented by Brad Finstad. This district includes a mix of small cities, farmland, and the world-renowned Mayo Clinic, a hub for medical research and care.

Donald Trump’s policies on tariffs, health care, and immigration—particularly visa restrictions affecting foreign scientists and doctors—pose serious risks to the district’s residents.

Yet Representative Finstad has avoided holding public town halls. Maybe it’s time his constituents made their voices heard.

  • Des Moines, Iowa

A billboard near Des Moines, Iowa, targets Senator Chuck Grassley. At a recent town hall, many of his constituents voiced serious concerns and frustrations about the legal and economic impacts of the Trump administration.

Senator Grassley has the opportunity to join Democrats—and some Republicans—in limiting the economic harm caused by Trump’s tariff policies and in protecting Iowa farmers.

As Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, he also holds the power to defend our constitutional rights.

  • St. Cloud, Minnesota

A billboard in St. Cloud, Minnesota, near the Veterans Hospital, sits in the state’s Sixth Congressional District, represented by Tom Emmer. This district leans conservative, but it's home to many farmers, veterans, and small business owners—people who may be alarmed by how the Trump–Musk administration is endangering their livelihoods and futures.

Representative Emmer has avoided holding public town halls. We hope his constituents will speak up and share their concerns directly with him.

  • Des Moines, Iowa

A billboard near Des Moines calls out Senator Joni Ernst ahead of a pivotal vote in the Senate. She faces a stark choice: vote to cut Medicaid and Obamacare, stripping health care from thousands in her state and threatening the closure of critical access hospitals, or vote to protect Iowans’ access to care.

The proposed cuts would devastate rural health infrastructure and working families, all to give billionaires another tax break.

This decision will impact lives across Iowa. Senator Ernst needs to hear from her constituents now, before the vote, and again at the ballot box if she chooses billionaires over the people she represents.

Our billboard is expected to reach 600,000 viewers this month, with even more exposure online.

    We’re especially interested in:

    Republican-held or purple districts

Areas hit hard by economic instability

Districts represented by Republicans who support the Constitution, health care, or scientific research
